The cause of death for Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been determined months ago but was blocked from release, the medical examiner said.

Cause of death released

A 14-year-old girl found dead in the car of TikTok singer D4vd died of multiple injuries, the medical examiner has determined. The finding had been established months earlier but was withheld from public release, the medical examiner said.

The victim has been identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Murder charge and plea

D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Hernandez's death. Prosecutors said the charges carry potential penalties of life without parole or the death penalty.

Burke pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Prosecutors said the nature of the case means he could face life in prison if convicted.

Child sex abuse images allegation

Prosecutors also said Burke was found to have had a significant amount of child sexual abuse images when he was arrested. His attorneys have maintained his innocence and said they would vigorously defend him.
