Cause of death released

A 14-year-old girl found dead in singer D4vd's car died of multiple injuries, the medical examiner has confirmed. The determination was reached months ago but had been withheld from release until now, according to the medical examiner.

The teenager has been identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Charges

D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death. Prosecutors said the charges carry penalties that could include life without parole or the death penalty.

Burke pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Prosecutors said the nature of the case means he could face life in prison if convicted.

Abuse material allegations

Prosecutors also said Burke was found to have had a significant amount of child sexual abuse material at the time of his arrest. His attorneys have maintained his innocence and said they would vigorously defend him.

The case remains before the courts.
